A mother of four children who became a heroin addict because of family stress has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

Garda Matt McMahon said Mary Goulding (38), of James Connolly Tower, Ballymun, had handled £1,010 stolen in a burglary on November 23rd last and stole £29 worth of goods from Penneys of Mary Street on February 28th.

Judge Desmond Hogan imposed two consecutive three month sentences.
