A mother who allegedly passed heroin to her son as he appeared at a city court appeared before Dublin District Court yesterday on possession and supply charges.

Ms Marion Ashby (43), of Buttercup Park, Darndale, Dublin was charged with possessing one gramme of heroin, worth about £200, for the purpose of supply at Kilmainham District Court on November 28th, 1995. She pleaded not guilty.

Garda Eoin Healy of the Kilmainham drug unit told the court yesterday that Ms Ashby's son was being held in custody awaiting his case being heard in the court. It was alleged that, as the youth was brought from the cell area to the dock, Ms Ashby passed the heroin to him.

Judge David Riordan remanded Ms Ashby on bail to appear on July 3rd for hearing.
