Mother and daughter refused bail

A LONDON mother and daughter alleged to be involved in an £8 million heroin ring have again been refused bail

A LONDON mother and daughter alleged to be involved in an £8 million heroin ring have again been refused bail. Ms Eithne Coyne (47), of Hogan Way, and Ms Eithne Coyne (24), of Amhurst Way, both in Hackney, are charged with importing heroin at Dublin port on February 6th and having it for supply.

Garda Angela Willis objected to a renewed District Court bail application, saying she believed the pair would abscond even if substantial independent bail was met. She said it was alleged the women were involved in an £8 million heroin operation and had access to millions of pounds. Both lived outside the jurisdiction.

She said the street value of the drugs seized was £500,000 and it was alleged the defendants themselves have been involved in importing heroin worth £6 million.
