Madrid - Spain rejected an offer from Israel's secret service in the 1980s to kill Basque separatists in France, a Spanish newspaper said yesterday. Mr Adolfo Suarez, Spain's first democratically elected prime minister after the country emerged from the Franco dictatorship in 19,75, refused to mount a "dirty war" against ETA guerrillas, El Mundo said citing a book by a renowned Spanish journalist, Pilar Urbano. In I Entered Spain's Secret Police, Urbano quotes the then chief of police as saying Israel's Mossad had offered to eradicate ETA.
