More gardai to be recruited

A new competition for garda recruitment in the three year period 1992 was announced yesterday. The numbers to be taken on will be decided shortly. The Minister for Justice, Ms Owen, said the normal recruitment arrangements, which include a special increase of 400 gardai approved last year, would continue in the meantime.
