The Dublin criminal known as "The Monk" was released without charge from Fitzgibbon Street Garda station on Friday night, after being held for two days in connection with an investigation of threats made "against gardai. The criminal, who had been arrested at his Clontarf home on Thursday morning, had been held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
