An Offaly priest had a “miraculous” escape when a tree fell on his car yesterday.
Mucklagh curate Fr John McEvoy said: “I must be the luckiest man in Ireland. I shouldn’t be here.”
Fr McEvoy’s Toyota Prius was written off when a large branch struck his car as he drove through Mucklagh.
“It could have been a different story and maybe it should have been a different story, but whatever intervention is up there I’m still here,” he said. Fr McEvoy walked away from the wreck.
