Moscow - The crew on Russia's Mir space station finally fixed its latest problem yesterday and mission control dismissed US criticism of the craft's safety record, saying cooperation with NASA was on track.

The deputy flight director, Mr Viktor Blagov, said the crew restored equipment which automatically keeps Mir and its solar panels facing the Sun.
