LONDON - European Environment Ministers gathered in London yesterday for a two day conference to consider ways of reducing one of the most pressing problems plaguing cities, summer time smog.

Officials from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, along with representatives from the European, Environment Agency, are trying to develop a common strategy against ozone, the chief culprit in smog production.
