The funeral of John Creighton, father of Minister of State Lucinda Creighton, took place yesterday in his native Claremorris, Co Mayo.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Minister for Health James Reilly and former taoiseach John Bruton were among the huge crowd who attended funeral ceremonies for the former bookmaker over the weekend.
Mr Creighton was buried in St Colman’s Cemetery following requiem Mass at 1pm yesterday.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, daughters Lucinda and Niamh and their husbands, and five grandchildren.
