The Minister for Sport John O'Donoghue has received a report into the sacking of Bord na gCon chief executive, Aidan Tynan, following a row over failed greyhound doping tests.

The Minister received a letter last week in which Mr Tynan complained about a board decision not to publish the findings of drug abuse.

Minister O'Donoghue wrote to the chairman of Bord na gCon, Mr Paschal Taggart and sought an urgent report on the matter.

The letter relates to a case last summer where EPO was found in a dog called 'Barefoot Jenny'.

Fine Gael today called for an independent Control and Appeals Board, outside of Bord  na gCon , which would ensure that the recent controversy involving the alleged use of banned drugs could not happen again.
