The Commission for Aviation Regulation and the regulatory functions of the Irish Aviation Authority are to be amalgamated with the planned National Transport Authority, Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey announced yesterday.
He described the decision to bring them together as significant and said it was “a very tangible example of the Government’s commitment to ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of Ireland’s economic regulatory environment”.
