The Minister for Public Enterprise, Mrs O'Rourke today launched CIÉ’s new €325,000 group portal website.
The site www.cie.iecontains the redesigned websites of Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus, Iarnrod Éireann and CIÉ Tours.
All the sites include, journey planning, e-commerce ticketing, real-time travel alerts.
The Department of Enterprise part-financed the redesign, which was carried out by a company called Labyrinth.
Mrs O'Rourke said: "Serving the needs of the customer is crucial in any business. CIÉ, and its constituent companies, provide a range of public transport services. Ensuring their customers are kept up to speed on the range and level of services and how they are operating is crucial".
