The North's Minister for Health, Ms Bairbre de Brun, paid her first visit to the City Hospital in Belfast yesterday and also spoke to staff in the Jubilee Maternity Hospital on the same site.
Given the pressure on the hospital service due to the flu outbreak and a shortage of staff and beds, Ms de Brun asked the Chief Medical Officer to review the availability and use of intensive-care beds.
