The Minister for Defence, Mr Michael Smith, is to visit Irish troops in Kosovo tomorrow. Mr Smith will be accompanied by the Secretary-General of his Department and the Chief of Staff.
Minister Smith will view a number of humanitarian projects which are being supported by the Irish troops and will present medals to members of the 27th Infantry Battalion. at a ceremony in Camp Clarke.
On Thursday, the Minister will depart for Rome where he will have a bilateral meeting with his Italian counterpart.
Discussions will take place regarding Ireland's EU Presidency, and progress made in relation to the development of European security and defence policy.
