Sydney man Kane Desmond Tupuolamoui has been sentenced to a minimum of eight years in jail for his part in an attack on Cork man David Keohane three years ago.

Mr Keohane (32) was assaulted by Tupuolamoui and Thomas Isaako in the Sydney beachside suburb of Coogee on August 9th, 2008. The attack left him with brain injuries that affect his memory, movement and speech.

In May last year Isaako was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the attack and for one on another man nine days later.

Mr Keohane was hit on the head about 14 times, suffering multiple skull fractures. He was flown to Ireland while still in a coma, from which he emerged on St Patrick’s Day 2009.
