Spanish UN peacekeepers on patrol in south Lebanon today hit a landmine that killed four of them and wounded six, security sources said.

They said one UN armoured troop carrier was completely burned and another vehicle was damaged in the explosion, near the southeastern town of Khiyam.

A UN spokesman said he was checking the report.
