Alabama - What at first appeared to be a mild earthquake in Alabama was actually a roof collapse at a mine, the US Geological Survey said yesterday. The collapse occurred yesterday morning at a mine east of the city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The government agency had reported earlier yesterday that an earthquake measuring 4.0 on the open-ended Richter scale had occurred.
