CAIRO - Twelve members of the banned fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood organisation, including the founders of a political party, were ordered to be put on military trial yesterday, legal sources said.

A decree from President Hosni Mubarak ordered the military trial of the 12 on charges of "seeking to relaunch the extremist activities of the organisation" and "making contact with the Jamaa Islamiyaa and Jihad" militant groups.
