Michelangelo to raise £4.5m

London - Michelangelo's drawing Study for the Risen Christ is to be sold at auction on July 4th, Christie's announced yesterday. The pen, red and black chalk drawing is a preparatory study by the Italian Renaissance master (14751564) for a marble statue commissioned in 1514 for the Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome, the auction house said. It is expected to raise more than £4.5 million sterling.
