HUNTSVILLE - A Mexican sentenced to die for the 1985 murder of a Texas man was put to death yesterday in the third execution in as many days in the death chamber of the state prison.
Irineo Tristan Montoya (30) was injected with a dose of lethal chemicals a few hours after a final appeal to block the execution was rejected by the US Supreme Court. The case had brought diplomatic protests from the Mexican government.
