Croatia - Mr Stipe Mesic has come out well ahead of his rivals in Croatia's presidential elections. More than 99 percent of votes from Monday's polling have now been counted.

Mr Mesic got 41.11 per cent of the vote, with his closest rival, Mr Drazen Budisa, winning 27.71 per cent. Mr Mesic (65) an Mr Budisa (51) are expected to face a run-off on February 7th.
