President Mary McAleese is to pay a week-long visit to the US next month.
Mrs McAleese will fulfil official engagements in three states: California, Oregon and Arizona.
The President is expected to meet political and cultural leaders as well as members of the Irish community during the visit from December 10th-17th.
Mrs McAleese has visited the US several times during her tenure in office. The president paid a state visit to Norway last month.
