A man was killed in a work place incident in Co Mayo this morning.
He was fatally injured when he became trapped underneath a fuel tank while it was being lifted from a truck at a Bus Éireann depot in Ballina.
The incident occurred at about 8.30pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Mayo General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Gardaí attended the scene of the incident this morning and are investigating the circumstances of the man's death.
The Health and Safety Authority has begun a separate investigation.
