The Northern Secretary, Sir Patrick Mayhew, yesterday began a two day visit to Finland at the invitation of the former Finnish prime minister, Mr Harri Holkeri, who is a joint chairman of the multi party talks in Belfast.
The NIO said As well ash meeting Finnish politicians, Sir Patrick will seek to develop the economic ties between Northern Ireland and Finland. He will meet the chief executive of Huhtamaki, a Finnish company which has its food packaging plant in Portadown.
