Lagos - Authorities in Lagos, Nigeria's biggest city, have staged a mass burial of about 1,200 bodies left in mortuaries because of a public sector strike that spread to more states yesterday. Officials said labour unions in nearly a third of Nigeria's 36 states had called workers out on strike to protest at their government's decision to pay a minimum wage of 5,500 naira (£45) a month, compared to 7,500 naira approved for federal civil servants.
