Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin will today deliver a vision of the country's future economy driven by cutting-edge research jobs.

The Minister is expected to discuss the development of scientific excellence during an address at the National Forum on Europe.

He will be among speakers at the Research and the Knowledge Economy: The European Dimensionconference at St Patrick's Hall in Dublin Castle.

Prof Frank Gannon, director general designate, Science Foundation Ireland, will also address the talks, which will explore the measures needed to compete in a globalised economy.
