The organisers of the adidas Dublin Marathon have confirmed that a man has died after collapsing on the route.
The man, who has not yet be named, collapsed in the Terenure area, where he received immediate attention from gardai stationed nearby.
The individual did not recover and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
The organisers have said they are unable to release any further details at this time, until the family of the dead man has been informed.
