Manufacturing prices rise 0.1% in September

Factory gate prices increased by 0.1 per cent in September compared to an increase of 0.9 per cent recorded for same period last year, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 0.1 per cent in September this year, which compares to an increase of 0.9 per cent in August.

Building and construction prices increased by 9.9 per cent in the year since September 2005, while the price of energy products increased by 4.6 per cent and petroleum fuels decreased by 1.5 per cent.

In September, the index for export sales increased by 0.1 per cent, while the index for home sales also increased by 0.1 per cent.

In the year there was a decrease in export sales of 0.2 per cent and an increase in home sales of 1.7 per cent.
