Manslaughter pleas over schoolboy

TWO men accused of murdering a Lurgan schoolboy have pleaded guilty to his manslaughter

TWO men accused of murdering a Lurgan schoolboy have pleaded guilty to his manslaughter. A third defendant still denies murdering the youth, Gavin Malcolm (15), whose body was thrown from a fourth floor window in a block of flats in Lurgan on April 8th, 1994.

Yesterday Keith Brown (23) and William Turkington (18) pleaded guilty to manslaughter and to causing grievous bodily harm to the teenager. It is unclear if the prosecution at Belfast Crown Court will accept the pleas.

No application was made on behalf of the third accused man, an RIR soldier, Mr Jason Chillick (22). The trial continues today.
