A man and a teenage boy were arrested this morning by detectives investigating the murder of a man in Killarney, Co Kerry, on Sunday morning.

James Brazier, who had lived in the town for over a year, had been socialising on the night of Saturday, April 14th. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital with stab wounds early on Sunday morning and died there.

The man (26) and the 17-year-old were arrested this morning at Killarney Garda station and were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Mr Brazier (30) was found in the bedroom of a house in the Pinewood Estate in Killarney with serious injuries shortly after 2.30am. A number of children were in the house at the time.

On Monday, gardaí appealed to anyone who may have seen Mr Brazier in the hours before his death to come forward.

Gardaí opened a full murder inquiry following a postmortem by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.
