An accountant claimed he lost £1,200 because a company got dates of birth mixed up while applying for shares for him and his wife during last year's public flotation of Eircom.

Mr Noel Morrissey of Skerries, Co Dublin, is suing Computershare Services Ireland Ltd, Sandyford Industrial Estate, in the Small Claims Court, claiming it was negligent in handling his application resulting in a delay which meant he could not re-sell the shares shortly after they were issued.
