Man shot dead in Dublin gun attack

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the city early this morning.

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the city early this morning.

Two men are reported to have entered a house in Drumheath Avenue, Mulhuddart at around 3 a.m. and shot the 23-year-old man twice in the chest. Both attackers then fled the scene on foot.

The injured man was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was prounounced dead a short time later.

The scene has been preserved for forensic examination. A post mortem is due to be held later today.
