A man was seriously injured after he was attacked near Belfast city centre last night.

A man was seriously injured after he was attacked near Belfast city centre last night.

The man in his 40s received serious head injuries when he was assaulted by a number of people, a PSNI spokesman said.

The attack happened at 9.40pm at the junction of Sussex Place and Hamilton Street. Detectives in Musgrave Street station are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
