A 20 year old man was badly beaten in what appeared to be a "punishment" beating at a house in the Lower Ormeau Road, Belfast.
Several masked men armed with handguns attacked the man at his girlfriend's house. They brought him outside and beat him about the legs and body with iron bars. The man suffered fractures to both legs and bruising. An RUC spokesman said the attack was not believed to be sectarian.
