Man remanded over drug seizure

A man was remanded in custody tonight over the seizure of cocaine yesterday in Dublin worth an estimated €210,000.

A man was remanded in custody tonight over the seizure of cocaine yesterday in Dublin worth an estimated €210,000.

The 30-year-old, from Swords in Co Dublin, was charged with possession and possession with intent to supply at a special sitting of Dublin District Court.

Members of the Garda National Drugs Unit found the drugs when they stopped and searched two cars in the Tallaght area at about 6.30pm yesterday.

The suspect was remanded in custody and is listed to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Thursday.

Two others arrested at the scene, a 39-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth were released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
