Man remanded over Co Kildare death

A man appeared in court today in relation to the discovery of a body in Newbridge, Co Kildare, last Tuesday.

A man appeared in court today in relation to the discovery of a body in Newbridge, Co Kildare, last Tuesday.

Gardaí at Newbridge are investigating the death of a Latvian man (29) whose body was discovered in a house in the Oaks, Newbridge, Co Kildare.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to Naas General Hospital where Dr Marie Cassidy performed a postmortem. The man's cause of death was determined to have been from head injuries.

A man (42) was arrested the same night the body was discovered. He was taken to Naas Garda station and was charged with section 3 of The Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act.

The man appeared before Kildare District Court this afternoon and was remanded in custody to appear before Naas District court on April 1st.

Investigations are continuing.
