A Limerick man charged in connection with the discovery by gardai of bomb-making equipment in Co Tipperary last month was further remanded for two weeks at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday. Garda sources linked the find to dissident republicans.

Mr Christopher Smith (39), of Ballynanty Beg, Limerick, is charged with possession of two anti-armour drogue bombs containing Semtex and other bomb-making equipment at Townspark, Cahir, on January 23rd.
