Man remanded over Antrim death

A man appeared in court today charged with murdering a financial adviser in Northern Ireland.

A man appeared in court today charged with murdering a financial adviser in Northern Ireland.

Darren Ivan Kernohan (33) from Moss Drive, Antrim, spoke only to confirm he understood the charges during a five-minute hearing at Ballymena Magistrates' Court.

Father-of-four Geoff Kerr (60) was shot dead in front of his family at his Templepatrick, Co Antrim, home by intruders who came to his door last Monday night.

Four other people arrested in connection with the killing have been released.

An investigating officer said he could connect the accused with the charges before the court.

Magistrate Richard Wilson remanded him in custody to appear via video link at Antrim Magistrates' Court on May 26th.
