A 27-year-old male arrested in connection with the shooting dead of a man in Dublin's inner city earlier this year has been released without charge.

John Carroll (33), a suspected drugs trafficker, was shot dead in Grumpy Jack’s pub in the Coombe area of Dublin 8 on February 18th.

Gardaí have made a number of arrests in connection with Carroll's death.

Gardaí believe men close to Carroll were monitoring him and informing the gunman as to his whereabouts on the night.

Gardaí released the man late last night from Kevin Street Garda Station and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution.
