Gardaí in Co Meath are questioning a 33-year-old man today over the discovery of a cannabis growing facility in a shed yesterday.

Some 20 plants, lights and heaters were found in the shed near a house in Magdeline Court, Kells.

In a follow-up search in a house in the town two bags of what is believed to be speed were found.

These drugs have not yet being forensically examined and gardai could not estimate the value. However, one report valued them at at €30,000.

The man, is being quesioned at Kells Garda station. He can be held for seven days under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
