Man on sexual assault charges

A 54-year-old man charged with 29 offences of sexual assault against boys over a 21-year period appeared in court yesterday.

A 54-year-old man charged with 29 offences of sexual assault against boys over a 21-year period appeared in court yesterday.

Dublin District Court heard the man replied "no comment" when charged by Det Sgt Brian Sherry yesterday morning.

The court also heard the defendant had already been served with a book of evidence in relation to 13 other charges. The new offences are alleged to have occurred in Dublin between 1968 and 1989. He was remanded on bail of £1,000 to June 10th.
