Man killed, second hurt in Drogheda fire

One man has been killed and another seriously injured in a fire in Drogheda this morning.

One man has been killed and another seriously injured in a fire in Drogheda this morning.

A Garda spokesman said the fire brigade was called to the fire at a flat in a house on Mary Street at 10.30 a.m.

Fire crews rescued one man, who has been brought to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda. He is described as being in a serious condition.

The other man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The dead man has not yet been named.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination to determine the cause of the fire.
