A man has been killed and three others injured in a road collision in Co Roscommon.
The incident occurred on Boyle road in the Frenchpark area earlier this evening. A Garda spokesman said the victim was a male in his 70s.
A Garda investigation is underway and the road remains closed.
A 28-year-old man died in a road crash at Watercastle in Co Laois last night. The man was fatally injured when his car hit a tree on the N8 between Abbeyleix and Durrow at about 10pm.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The scene was technically examined and the road has re-opened to traffic. Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Abbeyleix.
