Man killed after being hit by mini-bus

A man in his twenties was killed in Co Louth early this morning after he was hit by a mini-bus.

A man in his twenties was killed in Co Louth early this morning after he was hit by a mini-bus.

The incident happened as the 27-year-old man walked along the road at The Liberties in Carlingford, Co Louth, at 2.45am.

He died at the scene and was removed to the Louth Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Several passengers were on the bus at the time, but were not injured.

Gardai have appealed for any passengers who left the scene after the crash to come forward as witnesses.

A Garda spokeswoman warned the road remains closed for a forensic examination

and local diversions are in place.
