A man has been jailed in Belfast for forcing a 14 year old schoolgirl to leave home and have sex with him. Gary Nixon (26), from Dundee, Scotland, was jailed for 18 months for abduction and having unlawful sex.
Nixon had tricked the girl in to travelling to Dublin, claiming he was a well known DJ. He used his "dominant personality" to force the girl to tour Europe with him. Crown lawyer Mr Gary McCrudden said Nixon had unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl when they were on the Continent.
The girl phoned her local police station from Belgium in October 1994. Nixon was arrested in Scotland last August. He pleaded guilty to four charges.
