A Derry man who was on the run in Co Donegal for more than five years was jailed for four years yesterday at Belfast Crown Court.

Patrick Colm Canning (33), was arrested in September last year during a visit to Derry. Canning pleaded guilty to having possession with intent of an AKM assault rifle, a revolver and more than 60 rounds of ammunition, found during a police search of his Durrow Park flat in Derry on February 25th, 1991.
