A 71-year-old Co Galway man has appeared in court on 64 charges of sexually assaulting and having unlawfully carnal knowledge of his daughter. The man denied knowing anything about the charges when arrested.
At Ballinasloe District Court yesterday, he was remanded on bail to appear at the same court on October 21st. Bail was fixed by Judge James O'Sullivan in the accused's own surety of £1,000 and one independent surety of £10,000. The offences allegedly occurred from 1974 to 1988.
