Gardaí investigating a shooting in west Dublin last night have recovered a gun.

Gardaí investigating a shooting in west Dublin last night have recovered a gun.

A man (32) was wounded while sitting in a car outside Finnegan's pub on Sarsfield Road in Ballyfermot at about 11.10pm. He was targetted by a lone gunman who discharged a number of shots.

The victim was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment but his injuries were not said to be serious.

The gunman left the scene in a getaway car which was found burned out at Goldenbridge Terrace, Inchicore last night.

A gun was recovered close to the burned out car.

The scenes of the shooting and fire are being preserved by gardaí for a technical examination.
