A man in his 20s was being treated in hospital today after being shot several times in a paramilitary-style attack in Belfast.

He was shot in the knees and ankles in the communal hallway of a block of flats in the west of the city.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the shooting happened in the flats at West Link at around 11pm last night and appealed for anyone who saw any suspicious activity to contact them.

The man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
